District Profile

The Minersville Area School District is a small, rural public school district in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. It’s centered in the borough of Minersville and also serves Branch Township, Cass Township, Foster Township, and Reilly Township. The district covers about 55 square miles.

The district operates an Early Childhood Education Center, which includes a publicly funded preschool and full-day kindergarten, along with the Minersville Area Elementary Center for grades 1 through 6 and the Minersville Area Junior Senior High School for grades 7 through 12. High school students also have the option to attend the Schuylkill Technology Centers for hands-on training in construction and mechanical trades. The Schuylkill Intermediate Unit IU29 supports the district with services such as special education, mandated child abuse reporting training, speech and vision services, background check processing for new hires, and professional development for staff. The district also runs its own cyber program for students who learn virtually.

Students have access to a wide range of clubs, activities, and athletics. These include Aviedum Club, Interact Club, Spanish Club, Academic League, Drama Club, Student Council, National Honor Society, and Yearbook. The music program features marching band, chorus, and an annual musical.
