We will be finishing up our first chapter on addition and subtraction strategies
This week we will tour our classroom, pass out supplies and textbooks, come up with rules for our class and play some games to get to know one another.
Our first math chapter will be addition strategies.
Reading and Vocabulary
In reading, we will start looking for key details in the stories "Help" and "Little Flap Learns to Fly."
Unit 1 week 1 vocabulary words:

Our first grammar skill is to tell the difference between a statement and a question.
In spelling, we will be reviewing short a and short i. Our first spelling word list is:

Welcome! My name is Sara Sukeena. I am excited to begin my 17th year of teaching! This will be my 6th year teaching 2nd grade. I previously taught Four-K and kindergarten at our Llewellyn Early Childhood building. I have degrees in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education from Kutztown University, as well as a masters degree in Teaching and Curriculum from Penn State.
