We are...Penn State!  That's me!  I graduated from Penn State in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education (K-6).  A few years later, I earned a certification in teaching English as a second language from Penn State (ESL K-12).  The next step for me was attaining a certification in English for grades 7-12. In between earning degrees and certifications, I started my own family, too. 

My husband, Jeff, and I live in Minersville with our three sons--Joshua, Logan, and Jayce.  You will see us around town at extracurricular events!  Our life involves a lot of traveling to sporting events such as football, soccer, basketball, baseball, and track.  We even fit some band and choir concerts in our schedules! In my free time, I love to READ and listen to music.  But, my favorite thing to do every day is TEACH! This is the beginning of my seventh year teaching at Minersville, and my 6th year of teaching grammar and writing.

I am so in love with teaching!  Each year I can't wait to greet and learn about my students.  As the year begins, I envision what we will discover together.  It is a responsibility that weighs heavily on my mind.  We will struggle and succeed together as we brainstorm, organize, draft, revise, edit, and publish each piece of writing.  Shifting from grammar to spelling to writing, we will tackle rigorous curriculum and will TRIUMPH over it! Naturally, our writing skills will increase by leaps and bounds!  I hope to hear giggles and songs filling our room--even in frustrating times!  I am blessed to do what I love every day.  Let's have a SUPER SPARKLY year in sixth grade.
