I am Mr.s Maria Glore. I teach Four-K in the Llewellyn Building. This is my 29th year teaching. I received my B.S. in Elementary Education from Bloomsburg University and my certification in Early Childhood Education from Alvernia University. I am married with two children. My husband is a Deputy Fire Chief with the City of Reading Fire Department. My daughter graduated from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and is currently an animator with Titmouse Studios in Manhattan. My son is currently a senior at Pottsville High School. I have several pets including a dog, a cat, a cockatiel and several pond fish.
I have always taught Four-K since being hired at Minersville School District and I love this age and grade. A four and five year old child learns through doing so we are a very active and hands on classroom. In addition to learning the alphabet and numbers to 20, there is a focus on pre reading and math skills through the year. There is two weeks of science experiments and a week on famous artists where the children recreate famous masterpieces. Four-K is an amazing grade where the learning is clearly evident and the growth of the students from the beginning to the end is remarkable.
