***PLEASE READ --> INSTRUCTIONS FOR ASSIGNMENTS/WORK FOR 4TH QUARTER***

Hi 7th & 8th Graders,

Hope you all are staying safe and healthy!! Starting April 27th, I will begin posting new content for you to explore. I will post one new concept each week. EACH WEEK WILL HAVE THEIR OWN NEW TAB FOR YOU TO CLICK AND COMPLETE THAT WEEK'S WORK! For instruction, I will be posting powerpoints and videos for you to take a look at. After you are done viewing the powerpoint and watching the videos, there will be one assignment for you to complete. The assignment will be posted underneath the instructional videos. Just click on the PDF link. YOU MAY USE THE POWERPOINT AND THE VIDEOS TO HELP YOU COMPLETE THE WORK. Please email me with your answers to the assignment by the end of each week (SUNDAY afternoon @ 12:00pm). Please remember to number your answers in your email if it is an assignment that requires it. My email is kschleicher@battlinminers.com. In the subject line of the email, please type "completed assignment". I will be checking them, keeping track of who has responded and will also be providing feedback to you! I know that this is not what we are used to in terms of instruction and learning, but we will get through the end of the school year together. If at any point you are unsure what to do OR you need help on an assignment please email me. For emails that you are seeking help, please put in the subject line "help on assignment".

I am proud of all the work you have done so far, keep up the hard work in the 4th quarter. Once again, I am here to help you in anyway that I can! Miss you all!!

Mrs. Schleicher :)

Meet the Teacher

Hi, my name is Kelsey Schleicher and I am the 7th and 8th grade science teacher at Minersville High School. This year marks my 6th year teaching Life Science and Earth/Space Science in the MASD school district. To me, science is all about exploring, observing and capturing knowledge from all parts of life around you. I am so grateful to share my passion of science with all the wonderful students that walk through my door.

Educational Background

I am a proud graduate of the 2009 Minersville Area High School Class and even more proud to be teaching at my Alma Mater. I graduated in 2013 from Kutztown University with a dual certification in Special Education and Middle School EducationWithin my middle school certification, I have concentrations in Mathematics and Science. In 2018, I graduated with my Master's Degree in Instructional Development and Strategies from Wilkes University.

In my Classroom

I am an advocate for hands-on learning and instruct my students through activities, labs, projects and group work. I LOVE technology and make sure to educate the students how to use technology appropriately and to the benefit of their learning. But most of all, I strive to foster a safe, caring learning environment for all students with all educational needs. In other words -->"In a world where you can be anything, be kind." (Educational and Fun, 2019)
