• Enjoy your summer everyone! If you need me, I'll still be checking my email.  Feel free to reach out! aseddon@battlinminers.com

5/25  Happy Memorial Day everyone!! Well, looks like this will be our last assignment of the year.   I'm really sad it ended this way.  I miss you all so much.... even those of you who drive me crazy!  I really hope you are able to continue to stay safe over the summer, and hopefully we are able to go back to school next year like normal.  If you need anything over the summer, you can still email me.   Or if you have anymore good netflix shows for me to watch!!  I feel like summer should be drawing to a close with all this time away, but instead we have a full 3 months to go. Stay busy, read, watch some educational videos once in a while and try to keep learning something new over the summer. We will see each other soon! Love, Mrs. Seddon

5/18 Hey Everyone!! We are getting there!!!! The weather is getting nicer so hopefully you are able to go for some walks and still remember to keep your distance.  I'm trying to get my family outside more to break up the craziness (I can only watch so much Netflix!) Any good series or movies I should make sure to watch? Let me know what you've been doing to keep yourself somewhat busy when you send me your assignment.   Thank you so much for attempting these! I know this is not the best situation for you (and not really for us, teachers either!)   I would much rather talk, and demonstrate things in person, while you tune me out! Well, anyway, your new assignments are posted.  Please have a good week, and as always let me know if there is anything you need.  I'm here for you (for schoolwork, or nonschool work).  I know it can be hard being away from people, I miss seeing my family and friends on a regular basis, too.   Stay safe and healthy!

5/11  Things are winding down!  Next topics are posted. I hope you are having a good week.  Things are going to start opening up, please be safe if you are going out.  It can be easy to start spreading this just as quickly.  I just want to know you are all healthy and safe! Can't wait to hear from you!

5/4  Happy May! We are getting there!!  I've posted the next topics for you to look over.   Please let me know if you have any problems.   Stay safe and healthy!  Maybe this nice weather will make things seem  a little better. Have a good week, and as always, feel free to email me for help.

4/30   Hey Hey Hey!! Hope you are all hanging in! I did get the assignment from many of you, and I am soooo happy to hear from you.   The deadline for when they are due will be extended until Sunday at Midnight.

So continuing forward, I will post the assignment/notes/websites Sunday mornings, and they will be due the following Sunday at Midnight.  Hopefully this gives you time and my assignment is not overbearing.  Please reach out if  you are having any problems.

4/27  Good morning... May is on the way!!! So beginning this week, Dr. McBreen and the administration has decided that some assignments need to be "turned in".   On each subject tab, I will list the PowerPoints, websites that are useful, and then a couple assignments that I would like you to email me.  You can send this to aseddon@battlinminers.com. The keep it easy for you, you can simply write down the question number and your answer, take a picture and email it that way.  If you'd like to download the worksheet and edit it, you may do that as well.  I will post the assignments on Monday, and they need to be turned in by Friday at Midnight.  I know many of you have different situations at home, and do not want to make this stressful for you, so hopefully this allows you enough time to look over the material.  Once you email me, I will get back to you with feedback.  You can send more than one email, if you have questions before.  I will always answer you!  I will be keeping track of who is sending the assignments in, as we are to determine who is "Highly Engaged" "Moderately Engaged" and "Not Yet Engaged" Please just try your best!  Stay safe, and as always, let me know if there is anything I can do for you (for class, or not having to do with anything in class!)  <3 Mrs. Seddon

FYI You may email the assignment with either your school email, or if you can't remember your login, you may use your personal or a parent's email.    Your school login is your first initial last name graduation year @battlinminers.com So for example, ASeddon20@battlinminers.com.  The password is the same as whatever you login to use the computers at school. If you log in to the Microsoft Website (the link on the school website) You must select Outlook for the email portion.  But again, whatever is EASIER FOR YOU! I don't want to add stress to an already stressful situation.  Please let me know if you need anything.

4/20 Hello Everyone!!!! I hope you are still doing well and staying healthy. We were told to begin posting some new content.  I've attached interactive powerpoints, that hopefully you think explains the material well enough.   I know this isn't the ideal way to learn anything, but hopefully it's not overwhelming you.  Please email me answers to the worksheets, or about anything you'd like explained more.  I am here for you! For Chemistry, if you have your book, it would be a good resourse.  For Ecology, I'll try to narrow down a link here or there.   I know it starts to get tedious if there are a bunch of websites to look through.

I hope eveyrone is keeping their mind busy.   I know it's starting to get hard to stay at home and not be "bored".   I've started coloring and doing a few puzzles.  I can only sit and watch TV for so long.   I wish this weather would warm up so I could do more outdoors.  The seeds I planted are still growing, but pretty tiny yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they make it to plant outside! Again, if you need anything, related to school or not, you can email me!! I hope you are all safe and let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

4/13   Happy Monday Everyone! (I think it's Monday! I have to check my phone for the date anymore)  How is everyone doing?  I did get an email from a few of you, and it absolutely made my day!! Again, if you need to talk to anyone, please feel free to email me.  It DOES NOT have to relate to our class.  I've updated your class pages with more review materials.  I know it's hard to possibly do work at home, I've only been posting short slide shows or videos, kahoots or short activities.  Continue to look up something to learn each day (it doesn't even have to relate to class) but try to use this time to be somewhat productive.   I've been cleaning A LOT! I don't think my house has ever been this clean... if only I could keep my kids outside so it stays that way.  Have you practice any HOME EC things? Made any new meals? I think I might make a batch of homemade pierogies this week.   What's a new recipe you've tried, or how has your family gotten creative with leftover meals? (I don't want to waste food because I really don't want to leave my house and go to a grocery store!) Are you staying active? I'm cooking more, I might put on the Corona 19! LOL! But I'm trying to go for walks when it's nice out. I hope those of you who are checking in are remaining healthy and safe.   Please let me know if you need any help or anything I can do for you.  (aseddon@battlinminers.com)   I miss all of you and how crazy you drove me on a daily basis! :)

Ok, I'm not sure if this will work, but I tried to post a video of my kids doing the candle experiment we did in school!! Try it at home, and impress your family!  Let me know if you are able to see it.  It works on my laptop but I'm not positive it can be seen.  Also... after recording myself, I can understand why some of you find it so easy to fall asleep! LOL!

4/9  OMG!!! Can you believe we saw each other for the last time on Friday March 13!!?   This whole situation is so surreal to me. It's the best word I've been able to think of to describe all of these emotions.   Part of me is enjoying the break and slowing down of all the chaos of life between school, and my family.  Part of me is terrified I will soon know of a family member or friend who has died from this virus.  I'm heartbroken for all of the seniors who are missing out on all of their last quarter of fun such as the senior breakfast, class trip, GRADUATION, prom??? AHHH!! I'm sad for all the people who are out of work and trying to figure out how to pay bills for this. I'm nervous my husband will soon be one of them.    I'm paranoid when I go to the grocery store now and try and stay as far away from everyone as possible.  I hate the uncertainty of not knowing when this will actually end, that I can visit my parents, or even my brother in CT.  This will be our first Easter without seeing them! When can we celebrate with birthday and graduation parties, attend church??? I'm sure all of you have many different feelings about this, too.   Please don't hesitate to email me for any reason!!! It does not have to do with any of the classwork that is posted.  Please continue to be safe and stay home if you can.  Hopefully we can see each other again soon!

4/6   Hey all!! So this seems like forever since I've seen anyone but my family and a few of my neighbors.  I try to check on some of them since they are older and I'm hoping they aren't going out! My husband is still working (those truck drivers still need to move things around!) and Sharice is still working up at Wegman's, since people still need food!  Do you have any neighbors that you've been trying to keep an eye on?? Is your family home with you, or are they still working? Do you need help with anything???   I hope you are all still healthy and safe as things seem to be changing in our area.  Check out your course page for this weeks review topics.   Shoot me an email and let me know how you are doing, or if you or your family need anything! Plus, it'll give me someone else to talk to instead of my family ;) (Aseddon@battlinminers.com)

3/30What's up my science peeps?! Please check each course tab for your weekly review assignments.   Feel free to email me with questions.  I miss all of you and hope you are doing well and staying safe and healthy.

  • Hello All (March 24),

I'm sure some of us are starting to really get cabin fever by now.   I've updated your class pages with some more topics to review.  Please email me if you need anything (related to school or not!) I'm here going crazy with my own kids--I've gotten pretty good at MarioKart!! Don't worry, I'm driving my own kids nuts with making them do some work to stay up to date, and chores--no time like the present to clean the house. Please continue to stay safe and healthy during this super odd time. Hopefully, we can get back to normal some day soon.

    Mrs. Seddon

  • Hello All (March 16),

Please click on your subject page to get information for your class and material.

I hope you are all being safe and hanging out with your family.   I will try to have your last few assignments updated by the end of this week.  (I'm forcing my kids to do math and reading work as well!) Once I put the final cell phone grades, that will mean they are up to date with any assignments I had.  If something would happen to be missing, please send me an email.   A few of you do owe tests, so we will have to figure out how to make those up when we return.

Feel free to send me an email if you need anything, even if it's not school related.  (Or find me on facebook Kyle Amy Seddon ;) )

Mrs. Amy Seddon

Hi! I'm Mrs. Amy Seddon, and I teach science at the High School, specifically Chemistry and Ecology.  I grew up and graduated in Shamokin, and then majored in Chemistry at Lebanon Valley College.  After graduating, I worked for Schering-Plough Research Institute (now Merck) for almost 4 years before I decided teaching was my actual desire.  I attended Bloomsburg University and graduated with a MS in Curriculum & Instruction degree.   I began teaching here in Minersville back in Sept 2009 and have been here ever since.

Some fun facts about me: I have 2 busy boys, a dog named Raven, and am a big Baltimore Ravens fan!
