WEEK OF MARCH 8 – 13 2020
RAINBOWS AND LEPRECHAUNS
Our letter for this week was Ll and our theme was St. Patrick’s day and leprechauns. On Monday the children followed directions to draw their own leprechauns. After learning that Leprechauns hide their gold at the end of the rainbow we were excited to create our own rainbows using different sized half circles. There was even a pot of gold at the end!!! We turned ourselves into leprechauns on Wednesday. Thursday, the children colored a rainbow. They needed to identify the beginning letter of each color in order to correctly color the rainbow. We then turned them into rainbow hats. Friday we put our patterning skills to the test. The children placed green and white beads onto a pipe cleaner which was then twisted into a shamrock shape and made into a necklace. We also completed a journal page about what the children found at the end of their rainbow.
Our games were St. Patrick Day themed this week. We found hiding leprechauns and their gold to match capital and lower case letters, we practiced making patterns, played musical Shamrock numbers and went fishing for rhyming shamrocks.
Some of the skills we worked on this week included the number 19, the letter Ll, rhyming, identifying letters, numbers or words and finding the beginning letter in words.
If you would like to purchase the photo package that was sent home, please send the money to school in the envelope.
If you do not want the package, please return the photos in your child’s folder and we will return them to the photographer. Thank you.
